11th May Protest against the Supreme Court Judgement

Trans Liberation Bournemouth is organising a protest against the Supreme Court judgement changing the protections in the equality act that help keep trans people safe, as well as the subsequent transphobia from the EHRC, the media and politicians.

The protest will take place on the 11th Of May,  in The Triangle, Bournemouth. There will be speeches, starting from 2pm, and a march starting at 2:30 from The Triangle to the Pier. See below for an interactive map of the route.

Trans Liberation Bournemouth is not affiliated with any particular ideology or party, and anyone who wants to oppose transphobia, trans or ally is more than welcome at the event. Pride flags are encouraged!

The protest is intended to be a peaceful one, and given the scrutiny from the media around placards at recent trans protests we encourage people to keep the messages on placards non-violent. We also encourage anyone attending to read the available information from the Green and black Cross on staying safe at protests.

If you or your organisation would like to get involved, if you have questions or if you'd like to contact us for any other reason, please get in touch at transliberationbournemouth@gmail.com.

  1. Will this protest only focus on trans+ rights and flags, or will Palestine flags also be welcomed? I'd like to know if Jewish trans people and allies are welcome and can attend safely, but many of these protests also seem to include Palestine flags which have nothing to do with this country's trans rights.

    1. We have no firm policy for this protest on non-pride flags, but are encouraging people to bring pride flags. We welcome Jewish trans people and allies in the same way as we would welcome trans people and allies from any other ethnicity or religion.
