2nd May Protest against the School Guidance
Trans Liberation Bournemouth is organising a protest against the new legally binding school guidance concerning trans kids ability to transition in schools. It is widely agreed that core gender identity is firmly formed by age 3 and does not change through out life.⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾⁽³⁾ The governments new guidance ignores science and is unambiguously transphobic.
The protest will be taking place on the 2nd of May, at The Triangle, Bournemouth. There will be speeches, starting from 1230, and a march starting at 1300 from The Triangle to the Pier. See below for an interactive map of the route.
Trans Liberation Bournemouth is not affiliated with any particular ideology or party, and anyone who wants to oppose transphobia, trans or ally is more than welcome at the event. Pride flags are encouraged!
The protest is intended to be a peaceful one, and given the scrutiny the media likes to give trans protests around placards we encourage people to keep the messages on placards non-violent. We also encourage anyone attending to read the available information from the Green and black Cross on staying safe at protests.
